About the FHO
Welcome to the Otter Creek Family Health Organization (FHO)!
What is a FHO?
Family Health Organizations (FHOs) are an initiative of the Ontario Medical Association and Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. A FHO is a group of family doctors who work together to provide comprehensive, continuous primary care to their patients.
The doctors at Wilson Medical Group are members of the Otter Creek FHO.
What are the advantages of being a rostered patient in a FHO?
1. Access to extended hours through our After Hour Urgent Care Clinic on evenings and weekends
2. Access to a nurse-staffed Telephone Health Advisory Service 24/7
3. Reminders when you are due for cancer screening (eg. mammograms, colon cancer screening, pap tests)
4. Your doctor will be informed about the care you receive in the emergency room or when you are admitted in hospital
What is the After Hours Urgent Care Clinic?
The FHO provides extra hours to ensure continuity of care for rostered patients. The on-call doctor is a member of the Otter Creek FHO and has access to your medical record.
The clinic runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00pm and one half-day clinic on the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday).
These clinics are available for urgent issues only and can only be booked on the same day.
Please note, we are not a walk-in clinic. All patients must have an appointment and be registered with a FHO physician.
